Ground Beef Chili

Ingredients
3 pounds Ground beef
1 Large onion (chopped)
1 Bell pepper (chopped)
2 Celery ribs (chopped)
2 cans Kidney beans
29 ounces Tomato puree (canned or homemade)
1 jar Salsa
14 1/2 ounces Diced tomatoes (canned or homemade)
1 can Condensed beef broth
1 or 2 cups Water
1/4 cup Chili powder
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Dried basil (store bought or homemade)
2 teaspoons Ground cumin
2 teaspoons Steak sauce
1 teaspoon Garlic powder
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons Browning sauce (optional)
Chopped onion for topping (optional)
Shredded cheese for topping (optional)
Sliced jalapenos for topping (optional)
Bread as a side
OR rolls as a side
OR cheese straws as a side

Step by Step Instructions
  1. In a stockpot, cook the beef, onion, bell pepper, and celery over medium heat. Drain the mixture once the meat is cooked and the vegetables are tender.
  2. Stir in the beans, tomato puree, salsa, diced tomatoes, broth, water, all the sauces and seasonings, and browning sauce if you choose to use it. Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer uncovered for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Serving suggestions include chopped onions, shredded cheese, or sliced jalapenos for topping and bread, rolls, or cheese straws as a side.
