Ingredients
2 1 1/4 pound Rib eye steaks
Kosher salt
Pepper
2 tablespoons Canola oil
4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
4 sprigs Fresh thyme
3 cloves Garlic
1 sprig Fresh rosemary

  1. Generously season the steaks with salt & pepper. Let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat the canola oil in a cast iron skillet. Add the steaks and cook on high for 5 minutes. Flip the steaks over, then add the butter, thyme, garlic and rosemary. Continue cooking over high heat, basting the steaks with the other ingredients for 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. Transfer the steaks to a cutting board, then let them rest for 10 minutes. Cut the meat of the bone, then slice the meat across the grain before serving.
